Bollywood Garam: Popular music director Ismail Darbar has recently alleged Oscar winner A R Rahman of buying the Oscar awards. Rahman had won the Oscar for the Best Original Music Score as well as the Best Original song for the movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ directed by Danny Boyle.

The music director has always proved his abilities with his award-winning music in many Indian movies, which also include regional movies. But seems like the fact hasn’t gone down well with Darbar, as he has said that Rahman has bribed the jury of the Oscars and has bought the awards.

Darbar had even added that the music for Slumdog Millionaire wasn’t worthy of a prestigious award like the Oscars and that the music wasn’t Oscar material at all. However, the music director also added that some of his other works for the Hindi movies were definitely worthy of the Oscars, but not this one for sure.

In response to Ismail’s allegation, Rahman, in a very calm state, said that the Awards are judged by 3000 people and there cannot be a way anyone can buy the Oscars. Darbar had expressed his views in a press conference in Nagpur and added that he would have been happy if he had won the award for the movies like ‘Bombay’ or ‘Roja’.
