Bollywood Garam: Indian singer Asha Bhosle, who has mesmerized the world of Indian music, has turned 78 on 8th September 2011. Despite her age, the singer’s passion for music and singing has not faded.
Bhosle has always treated all the songs she has sung, with her playful and sensuous voice. The singer started her singing career with the Marathi movie ‘Majha Bal’ in the year 1943 and since then has continued to spread her magic in the world of Indian music.
Bhosle has not only worked in Bollywood, but has also worked on international projects. The singer has sung in plenty of Indian as well as international languages.
Apart from private albums, the Asha has sung in many of the concerts in India as well as abroad. From pop music to ghazals to bhajans, Bhosle has proved her versatility in every genre. An international organization, The World Records Academy, has certified the singer as the Most Recorded Artist in the world in the year 2009. In the year 2000, Asha has also received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award by then government of India. Later in the year 2008, the singer also received the Padma Vibhushan. Bhosle has given 60 years to the music industry in India.
